8 steps towards healthier, fresher and more glowing skin!

1. Drink water:

Start the day by drinking at least 2 glasses of water – maybe with squeeze of lemon, as lemon will help cleanse the waste in your body more thoroughly. 

2. Watch your weight:

Being overweight may also increase the skin's ageing process as it increases the amount of free radicals in your body. Avoid fast foods as a regular part of your diet.

3. Smile!

Did you know that children smile approximately 400 times during the day, while grown ups only smile 15 times – tragic but true! Smiling tightens the supporting tissue around the mouth that helps to keep the facial shape. Smiling also sends positive signals to the brain...so simply smiling can make you feel happier!

4. Stop smoking:

If you smoke only ½ a pack of cigarettes during a period of 2 years, you could increase skin ageing by 50 %! 

5. Air moisture: 

Air conditioning and central heating steal moisture from the skin and can increase skin dryness. Buy an air-humidifier or put a bowl of water besides your desk.

6. Hand care:

Even if you have youthful facial skin, your hands can reveal your age! So always use hand cream. Tip: before washing up, put on hand cream before putting on the gloves. The heat from the water will increase the hand creams effect.

7. A healthy brew:

Research shows that green tea can have a positive effect on skin ageing. It is also a rich anti-oxidant source that will remove the body’s free radicals. To obtain the best results, let the leafs or teabag steep for 5-10 minutes.

8. Sleep well:

Did you know that the way you sleep can affects your looks? Dermatologists can tell which side you sleep by looking at your wrinkles. The best sleeping position is to lie is your back, or at least change sides, if possible. Also, try to get enough sleep – with 6-8 hours being the ideal!
